Miller & Carter in Ottershaw, have installed a new parking system run by Euro Car Parks, in order to ensure only their customers can park on their premises without a penalty.
Their car park has been widely used by residents for local shopping and while Miller & Carter has every right to enforce restrictions, it has highlighted the lack of public parking close to the village centre.
The public car park opposite our Village Hall can take about 30 cars. Most weekdays the cars parked appear to be owned by employees of local business or the hospital, filling the spaces all day.
This should be a facility for Ottershaw village. We have raised the matter with Surrey County Council to investigate whether it might be beneficial to our community to put a three hour parking limit. Let us know your thoughts.
